MARINE SURVEYS :

Many casualties at sea are caused due to improper maintenance of systems and inadequate safety compliance. Our survey will identify deficiencies and potential problem areas that can be rectified to prevent accidents. You should have a  survey performed every two years, on your vessel - it's in your interest !!!

*Condition and Value Survey

This is the most comprehensive type of boat survey and is strongly recommended when buying or selling a used vessel. It is necessary for all vessels over two years old.                                                                    It includes both in and out of water inspections and a sea trial. In addition to determining a fair market value, the intention is to inspect for integrity of all systems, construction, equipment, appearance and to ensure compliance with USCG, NFPA and ABYC standards and recommendations. This survey is most beneficial to prospective owners in that it identifies deficiences in standards, safety, maintenance and reliability.

*Insurance/Financial Survey

This type of survey is not as comprehensive as the C & V Survey described above.                                      It is usually required by insurance companies who are interested in assessing the nature of the risk that they are underwriting.                                                                                                                                   It is also required by banks and financial institutions in determining a fair market value. It includes a physical inspection, photos and references to BUC Publishing and NADA Guides. Usually, adjustments in value are made for physical location of the vessel in a particular State or County.

*Damage Surveys

 This is performed to assess the extent of damage.                                                                                       It also includes recommended repairs and estimated repair costs. Causes and recommendations for avoiding future occurences may also be included.

*Accident and Fraud Investigation 

This includes a damage survey, cause of "accident", investigation of possible fraud and/or negligence.            It is usually required by Insurance companies following a claim. Our certification as adjusters, investigators and our insurance background gives us unique abilities in this field. Performing this type of investigation means that we are usually called upon as "expert witnessess".
